"Tania was exactly what I was looking for - I was having a c-section and needed someone to stay overnight with me in the hospital as I could not get up and move around easily. She helped me with the baby, bringing him to me, changing him, putting him to sleep or just holding him while I slept. It was comforting to know someone was there and it alleviated the burden off my family and the busy hospital staff. She was knowledgeable about infants and had a very delicate touch with the baby.   “My husband and I had our first child in May 2014. After much debate early on in our pregnancy, we decided to hire and work with a Doula in preparation for the ‘big day’.

Tania came highly recommended by mutual friends. When my husband I and met with Tania for our initial consultation, we developed an instant rapport. She took the time to meet with us on a few occasions in order to learn more about our wants and desires for the pregnancy and labour. Tania was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with excellent information on nutrition, exercise (physical and mental), the labour itself, and after-care. She worked with us to come up with a birth plan that both my husband and I felt comfortable with. She gave us the tools we needed to feel prepared for the most important experience of our life.

What I loved most about working with Tania was that she allowed us to make decisions about the birth plan without any judgement. She was so supportive in the days leading up to the labour and reassured me whenever I had fears or questions. I had a very long labour and although some things didn’t go according to our plan, Tania was there for my family and I to re-assure us and assist me in making decisions when issues arose. We had initially planned to have a natural labour but also knew that if this were not possible, we would feel comfortable in making decisions on the fly with Tania by our side. She offered words of encouragement and wisdom and gave me a shoulder to lean on when things got tough. My husband and I were very fortunate to have experience such a magical moment and we were very happy to have shared this experience with our doula. "Tania, there are simply no words to express how invaluable you were to us during all phases of our sweet baby's birth. Your level attentiveness both before, during and after her birth were exactly right. At each meeting you connected with us and learned about what we wanted for this birth, you kept us informed with the sharing of your own knowledge, excellent tips and by referring us to books and online resources in line with what we spoke of. You checked in with us to see how we were doing and if we had any questions, all of which you answered. From the time spent labouring at home and then at the hospital, I felt completely comfortable in your care, grateful for your calm nature, and supported by your actions. You even took time to connect with our 4 year old son and reassure him as we left for the hospital, in a genuinely caring and touching manner. You are a wonderful doula and an amazing person. It was a gift to have you during that very long birth and we are grateful for your staying with us throughout, always with just the right thing to say and do.
